MKP took Shakespeare and flipped it (again!) in a hot new direction!

in February 2024 we chose Shakespeare's most memorable moments and decided to turn up the heat! One intimacy coordinator, five directors, ten sexy scenes, and ... hot wings??

our cunning actors were put to the test as they attempted to perform the Bard's most intimate scenes while consuming a devious selection of spicy treats and dishes!

An evening of Shakespeare's most intimate scenes,

pushed to even spicier limits.

Spicy Shakespeare opened to a complete run of sold out performances at the Salt Lake Theater Co-op. We are so grateful to all the love and support for this fun and challenging production.

Meet the talented company of local artists behind our unique production!

Ashley Morales-Scoffield

director

Ashley is a Salt Lake City based actor making their directorial debut with Mad King. While they still have not earned their degree, much to the chagrin of their mother, they have plans to do something in the next five to ten years. They are delighted to be working with a wonderful array of talent and they have provided tums backstage for said talent. Previously they were seen with Mad King’s Taming of the Shrew, ironically also eating hot wings on stage. This is becoming a habit. No one is complaining.

Conor Thompson

Director

Conor has been involved with theater in all its aspects for 15 years, but nowhere feels like home quite like Mad King. With this being his 4th show with the company, it never stops being an honor for him to forge new relationships, innovate his performances, and bring Shakespeare back to regular folk through the desire Mad  King has to entertain them. You may have seen him most recently as Baptista Minola in Madking’s Taming Of The Shrew.

He would like to sincerely thank all of those reading this who came out to see the show. Without your support, none of this would be possible. He also would like to thank the cast and crew, who's determination and talent brought this show to life. He marvels at the joy, sincerity, and wonder the visions of his fellow directors have brought to the stage through their exceptional cast.

Dallyn Steenerson

Director

Dallyn is an aspiring bog witch, who loves casting spells on men, trying new soup recipes, and spending time cackling with friends. They were raised in a theatre family, and have been acting, directing, and doing tech since they were knee-high to a pig’s eye. Most recently, you may have seen Dallyn as Biondello in Mad King’s Drunk Shakespeare production of Taming of the Shrew, and they are thrilled to be able to direct for this awesome and inclusive company!
