MKP Presents Proof
The show that started a new chapter!
Â
The inaugural production of MadKing's Fellowship Theater!
Opening it's doors in February 2025, PROOF was a first in many respects for MKP. It was the first non-Shakespearean play we produced outside of the Fringe Festival, the first performance we double cast, and the very first production to be showcased at our own venue! PROOF was well received by critics and audiences, and we are so proud and thankful for the opportunity to work with this amazing script and the incredible talent that brought it to life.

“The very first play I remember seeing was a production of Sylvia. My sister was stage managing and, through her, one of the actresses ended up staying in my parents’ mother-in-law apartment and used to humor me by spending time with me. Though I had already developed a love for musicals, I credit that experience with creating my love for plays. Because I spent so much time with her, I was able to see that not only were there so many different performance mediums, but that I could conceivably be a part of that world. As a director, I'm drawn to slice-of-life narratives- stories that explore the complexities and dramas inherent in the everyday lives of ordinary people. Proof timelessly resonates with audiences because it tackles subjects often shrouded in societal silence and stigma; things like depression, grief, and mental illness, and how these experiences impact individuals and their relationships. I believe artists have a responsibility to create works that address such sensitive topics, facilitating open dialogue and fostering a greater sense of acceptance. Witnessing this incredibly talented cast breathe life into these flawed, yet profoundly human characters has been an unparalleled experience. They have helped me grow as a director, a performer, and a person. I will be forever grateful for that. We should all be grateful for stories that give us perspective on the human condition, and what it is to exist, persist, survive, adapt, and grow.”
